Handpainted dog bed for the little tough guy (or girl)!

This dog bed has been in the works for a few weeks.  It is inspired by my husbands comment that everything I make is so “girly”.  I decided he was right and it was time to make something for the dog with a slight edge to their personality.  My husband actually constructed the wood bed for me (impressive heh?).  He cut the head board in a traditional Hanover style.

I hand painted the design on the head board.  The inspiration for the head board is our Lhasa mix, Lacey Mae.  She rides Harley with us and rocks her own doo rags and riding goggles.  She is truly a little biker babe and looks great lounging in her bad girl bed.  The lettering on the head board is done with raised wood letters.

The cushion is faux leather around 2″ HiDensity Smart Foam.   I had an absolute blast designing and making this bed…what do you think?
